CHAMBER ENSEMBLE
Welcome to our mixed chamber choir!
Open to a select group of 15-25 sophomores, juniors, and seniors.
Chamber Ensemble (also known simply as "Chamber") is our competitive, advanced mixed chamber choir in the Thomas Dale Choral Department (and has been both a treble and a mixed choir in previous years). This ensemble is limited to a select group of 15–25 sophomores, juniors, seniors, and Specialty Center freshmen who perform advanced musical selections in many different styles of choral literature, such as classical secular and sacred, contemporary secular and sacred, jazz, gospel, pop, Broadway, and more. Students will learn/continue the foundations and advanced technique of choral singing, music theory, stage presence and performance, and the benefits of working as a group to achieve a goal. This group annually performs at special events, such as the Homecoming game, baccalaureate, and graduation, as well as having previously performed in past years at local Veterans Day celebrations, Flying Squirrels games, and more. This group also competes at choral competitions.
Auditions for the Chamber Ensemble take place in the Spring of the previous school year. A mandatory parent/student meeting is held in May to give information for the next year (e.g. the Chorus Calendar, financial information and payment schedule, trip information – if applicable for that year, etc.).
